The Guest Room

Who is The Guest Room??

Southern California-based instrumentalist quartet, The Guest Room, epitomize the atypical-genre of today’s fast-changing West Coast music scene. Many have classified them as Neo-soul, Alternative R&B, Indie Pop, Bedroom Pop, and plenty more - what’s apparent is that these four childhood friends have developed a distinctive sound of their own rooted in their eclectic musical influences. The Guest Room is known for their recent collaborations with Alyssa Armendariz and Adison Rice, with more collaborations in the works. The Guest Room’s ethos is that of inclusion, exploration, and community; they welcome new collaborators to be their Guests!

The Guest Room finds themselves playing at all types of events and venues, including: Sofar Sounds San Diego, various Temecula wineries, DBA 256 in Pomona, The Mint LA, Riverside house shows, private events and everything else in between!

The Guest Room’s most recent release is entitled, “Call Me (feat. Mason Rice).” This project marks an inflection point for the group as they explore collaborations with local (and some not so local) singer/songwriters. This collaboration with Adison Rice is one of many to come and The Guest Room is excited to share their new and refined sound.

Some of their main influences include: Anderson .Paak, Hiatus Kaiyote, Vulfpeck, Fleetwood Mac, Daniel Caesar, Jamiroquai, Free Nationals, and Kali Uchis.

Latest Release: Call Me (feat. Mason Rice)

“What ‘Call Me’ does prove is that these Southern California boppers know exactly what they’re doing when it comes to crafting a sound.” -Spruced Up Reviews

“‘Call Me’ is a smooth body moving track. There are elements of hip hop infused with R&B and Soul.” - Trine Music

Call Me (feat. Mason Rice), was created in a piecemeal fashion due to COVID quarantine restrictions. This track marks the first time the group has recorded a track remotely and in isolation from one another. Certain sounds and instruments were specifically chosen to give the song a distant “phone call feel.” Call Me, comes at a time where we all desire a little more human interaction; right now, picking up the phone might be the best way.

This single marks the first collaboration with singer/collaborator/producer: Adison Rice.
